Message for our members
It has been nearly 12 weeks since the swimming pools the club train at closed their doors and the country went into lockdown. We hope all our members are keeping well during these strange times and as we begin to adjust to the new 'normal'.
We thought we would just send out a quick update email to let you know that the committee continue to monitor the situation and remain in contact with our pool providers so that when we do get the green light and are able to train again we can ensure the necessary risk assessments and control measures are put in place to protect our members, their families and the coaching team.
Latest information from the government has stated that the earliest date that swimming pools will be be able to open is the 4th July although of course this is subject to regular review and change if the conditions regarding COVID-19 are not right. Swim England as our governing body plan to release guidance to clubs on the 15th June so hopefully we will know more shortly after this date.
At the end of March Joy Knifton, the club's treasurer, sent out a separate email communication to members about suspending their training fees from April. If you missed this communication and have continued to pay your fees then please contact Joy to discuss how to resolve this. Don't forget when we get the go ahead to reinstate training sessions, it will be the responsibility of each member to reinstate their monthly fee payments. Joy will provide further information via email when this applies.
For any members not currently part of the Facebook group, the club has a closed group on Facebook, called Coalville Swimming Club. Any member can request to join the group. Updates will continue to be posted on Facebook and the club's website and any important information will also be sent out via email. Abi and Deb have also set up a closed Facebook group called Coalville Swimming Club - Landtraining, and continue to support all the club's swimmers to maintain their fitness so that when we are able to return to the water it will be easier to get back to where we were before lockdown.
Don't forget the club also has its Friday night bingo and quiz nights on alternating weeks, kindly hosted by the Crane's and the Beadman's. Its not too late to join in, these take place on Zoom with the meeting ID and password being posted on the club's Facebook page prior to the event.
We will be in touch once again when the situation changes and we have information to share with you about this. In the meantime, if you have any questions please drop us an email.
Take care and stay safe,
Coalville Swimming Club Committee
